About Burundi
Burundi is one of the world's poorest nations and is now rebuilding following civil war since 1972.

Burundi has an estimated population of around 8 million, approximately half of whom are aged 14 or less. The effects of AIDS and cival war has had a significant effect on the demographics of the country.

There is now peace since elections in 2005, but the country still faces the formidable challenges of reviving a shattered economy and of forging national unity with up to 500,000 refugees now returning from camps in Tanzania and Kenya.

   Christmas 2011 @ Hope Centre Burundi


We have received some feedback from Pastor Leonard after he and the team at Hope Centre celebrated Christmas with the children. Here is his message and some pictures :


"Dear Hugh, Charles and Val,

Greetings in Christ and New happy year of 2012. I am so glad to send you this message in order to share with you how the children Christmas was alike. We gave food and fanta to 87 children. We asked each child to invite one of his/her friends to the Christmas party; we also invite some more few orphans from the vacinity so that they share the joy of Christmas with our Hope centre children. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you so much and may God keeps blessing you all for the great work you are doing for us.
